Geneva: The Online Place to Build a Community

By Elena Faddoul

Meet Geneva, a newly modified app that connects individuals from all around the world to form powerful communities.

In an age where community platforms have grown up across the internet, one new social app looks to have captured the interest of businesses and organizations, Geneva is a social network that has elements of Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, and Clubhouse all bundled into one.

The Geneva platform bills itself as a messaging app designed for organized, continuous discussions with people of all ages and backgrounds. This popular interactive platform has a clear goal of bringing team members and working partners together in one place.

Since its inception in March 2020, the platform has been available in numerous countries, including France, Spain, and the United Kingdom, for both iOS and Android phones, as well as computers.

The program itself is intended to be “more organized than GroupMe, more private than Facebook, and more fun than Slack,” according to its homepage.  As such, it allows users to publish written messages in forum-style rooms, in addition to video, audio, and written chat options. Members create their “Home,” which is a main page with several “rooms,” or groups, dedicated to specific topics. These “rooms” can be public or private in nature, which makes the platform great for building separate spaces.

The platform allows individuals to create communities based on their geographic areas and interests, but more crucially, it allows organizations like WIP to be driven to develop a global community of like-minded individuals. This provides a means of bringing people together and staying in touch with them even if they live far or have a different background.

At WIP, we supply many channels and forums where people discover themselves, meet the staff, ask questions, and, most recently, have debates about significant topics such as government affairs and current issues in the world.

Personally, I believe that this platform has enabled me to meet and work with people in ways that I could not have done before. And, in a broader sense, this app not only aids in the creation of a community, but it also aids in the creation of relationships.

Whether in person or online, Geneva assists in organizing and scheduling live events with people from all around the world!

Obviously, there are plenty of tools on the market right now, but none are like Geneva in the sense that they can assist a team grow and become a community.
